Clearview Skylights Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to read about rooflights and skylights here and get in touch. This page explains how the site is built, where its limits are and how to tell us about a barrier.

Our aim for this website

Clearview Skylights Peterborough wants everyone to be able to read about rooflights and skylights on this site and get in touch with us, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

We aim for the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content easier to use for people with visual, hearing, motor and cognitive disabilities. This statement covers clearviewskylightspeterborough.co.uk.

How the site is built

The site was designed with accessibility in mind from the start, rather than added afterwards.

  • A "skip to content" link at the top of every page lets keyboard and screen reader users go straight to the main text.
  • Pages use a clear heading structure, so you can move between sections with a screen reader's heading list.
  • Links, buttons and the menu can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Text and background colours are chosen and tested for contrast against the WCAG AA ratios.
  • Text can be resized up to 200% in the browser without content being lost.
  • Diagrams, such as the drawings of a roof lantern or a sightline, carry a text label that screen readers announce, and the page text around them explains the same point.
  • Movement effects only run if your device has not asked for reduced motion. If you turn on "reduce motion" in your system settings, the pages stay still.
  • Tables are kept narrow enough to read on a phone without sideways scrolling.

Known limitations

Some parts of the site rely on other companies' services, and we cannot fully control how accessible they are.

Survey enquiry formA third-party embed, so its accessibility depends on its providerEmail us instead
Area mapsMap images carry little meaning for screen reader usersThe areas are also listed in text

The enquiry form is provided by Mortaro CRM and embedded in our pages. We cannot change its code directly. If it gives you any difficulty, email info@clearviewskylightspeterborough.co.uk with the same details and we will treat your enquiry exactly as if it had come through the form. The towns and villages we cover are listed in text on our areas page, so you do not need the map to find out whether we cover your address.

Clearview Skylights has no public premises. We come to you for every survey and installation, and all contact is through the survey form, email or WhatsApp.

Asking for information in another format

If you need anything from this site in a different format, we will do our best to provide it.

That could be a quote or a sightline sketch explained in plain text, a large-print copy of a document, or a conversation by email instead of a call. When we visit your home for a survey, tell us about anything that would make the visit easier for you, and we will plan around it. Our survey page explains what the visit involves.

Reporting a problem

If you find something on the site that is hard to use, please tell us, because that is how we find and fix barriers we have missed.

Email info@clearviewskylightspeterborough.co.uk and include:

  1. the web address of the page;
  2. what you were trying to do;
  3. the device, browser and any assistive technology you were using, if you know them.

We aim to reply within 5 working days, and we will tell you what we plan to do about the problem. If you are not happy with our response, our complaints procedure sets out the next steps.

How we check the site

The site was tested before launch with automated checks and by hand, and we review it when pages or features change.

Testing covered colour contrast in the rendered pages, heading order, keyboard use, image and diagram text alternatives, and layout on small screens. Automated tools cannot catch every barrier, which is why reports from people using the site matter. This statement was prepared in September 2026 and will be reviewed whenever the site changes in a way that affects accessibility.
