Clearview Skylights Terms and Conditions

How the website may be used, how our quotes and sightline sketches work, your right to cancel, and the statutory rights that sit alongside our 10-year workmanship guarantee.

About these terms

These terms cover your use of clearviewskylightspeterborough.co.uk and the basis on which Clearview Skylights Peterborough gives quotes for rooflight and skylight work.

By using the site you accept the terms that apply to website use. The terms about quotes and work apply when you ask us for a quote or agree a job with us. If you have a question about any of them, email info@clearviewskylightspeterborough.co.uk.

Using this website

The site is here to help you plan a rooflight or skylight and to get in touch with us, and you may use it for that freely.

  • The guides, answers and diagrams are general information. They are written with care, but every roof is different, and they are not a substitute for a survey of your own property.
  • We keep the content up to date as far as we reasonably can, but regulations, products and guidance change, so please check anything that a decision depends on.
  • The text, drawings, photos and design of the site belong to Clearview Skylights Peterborough or are used with permission. You may print or share pages for your own use, but not copy them for commercial use without our written agreement.
  • Where we link to other websites, such as government guidance, we have no control over their content and are not responsible for it.
  • Please do not misuse the site, for example by trying to gain unauthorised access, sending spam through the enquiry form or introducing harmful code.

Enquiries, surveys and quotes

A quote from us is based on a survey of your property and is set out in writing, with the work, the products and the price clearly stated.

Information on the website, including our page on what affects the cost of a rooflight, is general and is not a quote. When you book a survey, we visit, measure the roof and the room, and look at where the rooflight will sit. Your written quote then comes with a sightline sketch, a drawing of the view from the place that matters in the room. The sketch is a planning drawing based on the measurements taken at the survey, prepared to help you judge the view before the roof is opened.

Each quote states how long it remains open. If something that could not be seen at the survey changes the work, such as hidden timber condition once the roof is opened, we will explain it and agree any change with you in writing before carrying on.

Your contract and the right to cancel

When you accept a quote, the written quote and any terms supplied with it form the contract between us, and they take priority over this page where the two differ.

If the contract is made at your home, or otherwise away from business premises, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel within 14 days of the day the contract is made, without giving a reason. We will give you the cancellation information and a cancellation form with the contract. To cancel, tell us clearly, for example by email to info@clearviewskylightspeterborough.co.uk.

If you ask us in writing to start work within the 14-day period and then cancel, you may have to pay for the work done up to that point. Products made or ordered to your measurements at your request may also affect what can be refunded, and we will explain this before anything is ordered.

Our work and your statutory rights

We install to current Building Regulations and carry out the work with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires.

CommitmentWhat it means
Workmanship guarantee10 years on our installation work, not insurance-backed
ProductsCovered by the manufacturer's own warranty, where one applies
Building ControlWe handle the notification where the work is notifiable
Statutory rightsRemain in full, alongside the guarantee

The full terms of the guarantee are on our guarantee page. Nothing in these terms reduces your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If the work is not done with reasonable care and skill, you are entitled to ask us to put it right, and in some cases to a price reduction.

Access, safety and the site on the day

Most of what makes a job go smoothly is agreed in advance, and we set it out in the quote.

We ask you to give safe access to the room and the roof on the agreed dates, to tell us about anything we should know, such as a party wall, a listed building or a planning condition, and to move valuables out of the working area. We protect floors and furnishings, keep the work area tidy and make good inside as described in the quote. Where planning permission or listed building consent is needed, we will tell you, and the work waits until it is in place.

Liability

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be excluded. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses, since our services are provided for domestic use.

Complaints, changes and governing law

If something goes wrong, our complaints procedure explains how we deal with it.

We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page when you accept a quote is the one that applies to your job. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. This page was last updated in September 2026.
